With the "leaked" prerelease now out, I plan on taking a long, long look into it. As in, mark everything I see in when I play it and my opinion on it. Main article after the break. (WARNING: Spoilers ahead!)
You might be wondering why, for the past two days, I haven't wrote anything. This is why:
On tuesday, I had a bunch of IRL and website-related stuff to do, so I couldn't post anything. On Wednesday, I was writing a fairly long post, then DEP erased it. Tried it again, DEP erased it again. So, this is just a notice why nothing has been posted. A new post probably won't happen until Saturday or Sunday, and we're definetly doing one on Monday. With September 8th coming ever so slightly, I can't help to feel anticipated. However, for some reason, I still have this tingling sensation in the back of my mind that I'm not going to like it. This wasn't the first time this has happened, though.
Ever since my disappointment in TOR (To me, it looks like "generic-rpg-with-a-storyline-yet-terrible-graphics-and-gameplay: Star Wars addition.), I've been starting to wonder about my favourite sequels coming out. Some of it was removed by the release of Human Revolution (Which was EXACTLY what I wanted out of a Deus Ex game), but the nagging feeling is still there. Its like it's stalking me, almost. For example, the addition to NPC villages in 1.8, which was the thing I was most looking forward to, update wise. However, after seeing this preview on Kotaku, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of NPCs in an NPC village. Sure, maybe he was just perfecting the NPCs so that they would be great in 1.9, and that I'm fine with. But why release empty buildings in 1.8? What's the reason for them? What is Notch planning? I guess I'll only find out till either 1.8 comes out or I get more news on the subject. Other major updates happen to include a new type of health regenerating system, and, something that you could an fan favourite but decided not to, the Enderman. Personally, I think the new health system is great- I always have some pork in my inventory, yet never have enough room to put it in the front. I was actually hoping something like this would happen, and, unlike the NPC Village, it's confirmed that it's coming out full-package. The Enderman, however, looks like something that came out of the very pits of my worst nightmares. They might be a rare spawn, and drop diamonds, but I'm going to say right now that it's going to scare the complete SHIT out of me, and make me paranoid. Here's hoping it will only be on hard or some other difficulty that no one plays on (Get back at those "peaceful" guys.. heh heh heh) And, with every update, it also has some small (but much appreciated!) tidbits, like more complex combat and more user control over dynamic lighting. It's also coming out this thursday, so here's hoping my worst assumptions are not true. Nothing much yet. Starting the site up, etc. But stuff WILL come soon.
