How do I install mods?
Once you get to know how, it's pretty simple. Just follow these steps:
1. Download the mod that fits your version of Minecraft, as well as anything required for it.
Let's use the popular Mo' Creatures mod by Dr.Zhark as an example. And let's say the your version of Minecraft is 1.7.3. Well, we can view by the name of the title that there is a version compatible with our Minecraft. So, simply scroll down until you find the "download" part of it. Go to the part that says 1.7.3 download (Or whatever your version may be) and download it.
We can also see that, to run, it requires Modloader, Audio Mod, and GUI API. Click on the names (Or, if there is no hyperlink, simply search it by the name) and it will take you to the page that it is on. Find it's download, then download it.
2. Read the READ ME file
The READ ME file is vitally important, because it will give you detailed information on how to install the mod. To find it, go to your Downloads (Or whereever you might have downloaded it), Extract it, then find the README.txt. If it doesn't have that, then simply extract all the CLASS files and folders to your minecraft.jar using an extractor like Winrar or similar. You can find your minecraft.jar by going to either Run or Search (depending on what system you use) and put in "%appdata%" Sometimes it will show something named the "roaming" folder, which is the one you need. Click on it, and you should find at the top a folder named ".minecraft" click on that one, then "bin", then finally open the "minecraft.jar".
